Behold the Cast of new Bond Film 'Skyfall'

Javier Bardem, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris and Daniel Craig.

NOV 4, 2011 – The cast of the new James Bond film was presented to the media in London yesterday by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. This was reported by Sony Pictures in an email I received today.

The 23rd James Bond adventure, entitled SKYFALL, will be directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes. The email said the screenplay is by Neal Purvis & Robert Wade and John Logan. The movie starts production on Monday, November 7th, and will be released in Britain on Oct 26, 2012 and in North America on Nov 9 2012.

In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, Bond must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost. Mendes told reporters that the movie will be shot in London and that Bond's adventures will take him "to Shanghai and other parts of China, to Istanbul in Turkey and other parts of Turkey and to Scotland".

Daniel Craig reprises his role as Agent 007, while Dame Judi Dench returns as M. The new faces include Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney and Ben Whishaw but, as expected, the media attention was on the new Bond girls named as Naomie Harris and Bérénice Marlohe.

Naomie Harris, a Brit who plays a field agent called Eve, is best known to film fans as Tia Dalma in 2006's Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and follow-up sequel POTC: At World's End. French actress and model Marlohe, who plays the glamorous and enigmatic Agent Severin, is mainly a TV star in France. Bardem plays a yet unnamed villain.

The cast also includes Rory Kinnear, who will play M's chief of staff, Bill Tanner, and Helen McCrory, who played Narcissa Malfoy in the Harry Potter films.
